Description of Motive

Alexander the Great represented with a horn, as a symbol of power. After being crowned in Egypt as pharaoh, he was declared as a god. Alexander the Great was often represented with the symbolism of the god Amon Ra. In Egyptian mythology Amon Ra was god of the sun and the horn was a symbol of power, authority and domination.

Alexander of Macedon

Alexander III of Macedon or Alexander the Great was an ancient Macedonian king of the Argeadi dynasty, son of Philip II of Macedon. He was born in Pella in 356 BC. and died in Babylon, in 323 BC. The ancient Romans called him Magnus, “Great”.

Alexander the Great ruled from 336 BC. to 323 BC and is one of the most successful military leaders in human history.

With his achievements he left a deep mark in human history, grew into an example of a hero and subject of many legends.
